LEMON AND HONEY WINGS

lemon and honey wings with fries

INGREDIENTS

Chicken wings

Soy sauce

Sugar

Chicken cube stock

Honey

Lemon

Cornflour  

Rosemary

Peri peri salt

Thyme  

lemon juice 

Sesame seeds

Potatoes

Sweet potatoes

Oil for frying

METHOD 

Step 1 

Wash chicken wings throughly and let it dry

Step 2

In a bowl season the wings with soy sauce (2 tablespoons), sugar(1 tablespoon) and one chicken stock cube and mix (leave overnight in fridge or at least 2 hours – ensure you crush cube into small pieces)

Step 3 

On a flat plate add a heap of cornflour. Dip the wings one by one into cornflour and coat throughly

Step 4 

Fry the coated wings in medium to high oil until golden brown . Fry for around 6-8min until wings are cooked then remove and set aside

Step 5

For the sauce we will grate the zest of one lemon and squeeze the juice of half a lemon

Step 6

Heat up a small pot on low heat and add the honey (3/4 tablespoons) in. Add in the zest and juice of the lemon then stir

Step 7

Mix a teaspoon of cornstarch and water then add to the mix. Mix the mixture until it starts to thicken up and the ingredients blend together

Step 8

In a bowl combine the lemon and honey sauce with the friend chicken wings – ensure the sauce is evenly distributed – then sprinkle some sesame seeds.
